Our new BabyTrees daycare centre in Saint-Denis-Lancastel has been welcoming your children since January 2023.
It lies at the heart of Saint-Denis, nearby boulevard Lancastel.
It is open to children aged 2 months to 3 years, and delivers Montessori activities in an original bilingual French and English environment.
The daycare centre is open Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5.30pm.

Our La Reunion Saint-Denis - Lancastel daycare centre can accommodate up to 12 children.
It offers individualised care for your child, in a more homely setting than traditional centres.
The days are followed by a flexible but consistent routine. Moments of individual play, choosing time, group activities and adult initiated activities. Our educators work close with families to understand and maintain routines followed from home. These routines develop and adapt into new routines that work best for the individual child as they grow and move from stage to stage of their learning journey.

MONTESSORI ACTIVITIES

GEOMETRIC SHAPES
Children aged 2+ get their own individual mark making workbook.
They use the suggested shapes to try and colour in or draw its outline. This is the first stage of learning to write, working on coordination and fine motor skills in the fingers.

BROWN STAIRS
Used to develop the child’s understanding of size and difference. All ten blocks are the same size but vary in height and depth.
This material trains eye and hand co-ordination and teaches comparison and difference between wide and narrow sizes.

PUZZLES
Promote cognitive and fine motor development. It supports concentration, coordination and a sense of order and satisfaction at the end result.

CYLINDER BLOCKS
Allows the child to visually discriminate the cylinders straight away the diameter of the cylinders.

DRESSING FRAMES
Main purpose is to educate and teach the children how to dress themselves.

Enrolment is open throughout the year: please complete the pre-enrolment form below.
Our Daycare centre in Saint-Denis – Lancastel is eligible for childcare funding. This means that if you are eligible, you can receive funding for the child.

WELCOME AREA
This is an area to assist in a smooth transition between family and nursery. Children have their own individual storage for their belongings and shoes.
ACTIVITY AREA
The main area of the setting where the activities take place. Here is where children can access the Montessori materials.

SENSORY ROOM
The sensory room includes large play blocks, a ball pond and tunnels. The children can express themselves and develop large motor skills.
Basic life skills and risk-taking such as walking, running, climbing, jumping and a sense of balance can be explored in a safe way. These types of activities help to boost a sense of belonging and well-being in the group.

READING AREA
Corner in the activity room which is dedicated to communication and language. The group enjoy Circle Time – singing and stories, in English and French, multiple times in the day as a group. Children build a sense of belonging and value, giving them confidence and self-worth. During this intimate time, children take turns to listen and interact with each other and staff.
OUTDOOR COURTYARD
The daycare has a secure and enclosed outdoor play area.
This is an area where children can play and experiment in their learning journey in an outdoor space.
The resources and skills expose the child to social situations, learning self-help and awareness from stage to stage of their learning journey.

BABIES SLEEP AREA
The micro-nursery provides two different bedrooms for babies and children. These rooms are set up considering children’s specific needs and pace.
Beds are also suitable for each child. These rest moments are essential throughout the day, as they enable youngers to have a real nap.

TODDLER SLEEP AREA
Rest time is essential for children throughout the day, whether it is a nap like the youngers have, or merely a moment of calm with their cuddly toy.
CHANGING AREA
A room for hygiene and learning, the changing room is also a privileged moment between the nursery nurse and the little ones.
It is a place where children feel reassured and confident. There is an individual storage space for each child, containing their own nappies and cleansing products.

TOILETS
The daycare provides toilets, next to the changing room, are suitable for children to toilet train or already trained.
